Jerwood Gallery
Perched on the edge of historic Hastings beach, the Jerwood Gallery – home to some important Modern British art – was designed by the architecture practice HAT Projects. Clad in over eight thousand black ceramic tiles glazed locally in Kent, the building has been designed to reflect the ever-changing seaside light, and blends seamlessly with its surroundings. The collection includes over two hundred works, mostly dating from between WW1 and the 1960s – a beautiful addition to a beautiful spot.
