How Do Tights Differ?
Tights differ mainly in transparency, colour, appearance, pattern and function. Transparency is measured in DEN: the higher the DEN value, the more opaque the tights are. Very sheer styles up to around 20 DEN are especially suitable for polished, understated and elegant looks. Between 20 and 50 DEN, tights look suitable for everyday wear and elegant, while opaque styles from around 60 DEN give the outfit more definition and can feel pleasantly warm when greater warmth is needed.
Matte tights look understated, polished and professional. They are therefore well suited to everyday wear, the office and elegant outfits. Shiny styles draw more attention to the leg and give the look a more festive or glamorous touch. Patterns, mesh effects or subtle textures can add extra fashion accents. In addition, features such as shaping or compression can support both comfort and the silhouette.
