8. Use of social media plug-ins
On our web pages you can use social media plug-ins (e.g. "like" or "g+1" button) for the social networks Facebook, Google+ and Instagram (hereinafter "suppliers") and thus share content, for example, or recommend products (hereinafter "plug-in").
If you access a web page on our website containing such a plug-in, your browser connects directly to the relevant supplier's servers. The content of the plug-in is transmitted direct to the browser by its supplier and is incorporated into the web page. This gives the supplier the information that you have accessed the corresponding web page on our site even if you do not have a user account with that supplier or are not currently logged into the corresponding service. Your browser transmits this information (including your IP address) directly to a server of the corresponding supplier in the USA; it is stored there as a usage profile and, amongst other things, is used for the purposes of advertising, market research and requirements-based structuring of the supplier's website. You have a right to refuse the formation of these user profiles, but you have to contact the supplier of the plug-in to exercise this right. You will find the relevant links below.
When you are logged onto Facebook, Google or Instagram via your user account during a visit to our website, the supplier can also attribute the visit to the site to your user account. When you interact with a plug-in, for example by using the "like" or "g+1" button, the corresponding information is also sent directly to a server of the supplier in the USA and is stored there. The information is also published via your user account in the relevant social network and is displayed to your contacts.
Even if you are not logged on to the suppliers of the plug-ins during the visit to our website, the data collected by the plug-ins may in some circumstances be attributed to your particular user account. A cookie with an identifier is set by a plug-in each time you access the website. Since your browser sends this cookie unsolicited on every connection to a server of the particular supplier, Facebook, Google and Instagram could thus in principle generate a profile of which websites the user associated with that identifier has accessed. It may then be possible later on – perhaps on subsequently logging on to the supplier – also to attribute this identifier to an individual.
If you do not wish to be associated with your profile by the plug-in supplier, you should log out of the particular service before visiting our website. In your browser settings you can also select the function "Block third-party cookies", in which case your browser will then not send any cookies to the respective server of the social network. However, apart from the plug-ins this setting may also not longer allow cross-site functions of other suppliers to work. You can also prevent the loading of the social media plug-ins altogether with a special add-on for your browser, e.g. the script blocker "NoScript" (available from noscript.net/).
You can obtain further information on the purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of the data from the relevant suppliers' notes on data protection. There you will also find more information concerning your rights and the settings options for protecting your private sphere as well as your right to refuse the formation of user profiles.

The data collected are linked to other data stored about me and assembled to form a user profile.

10. Tools used for analysis
We find it important to make our internet presence as good as possible and so to make it attractive to our visitors. For this it is necessary to know how our visitors regard it. To analyse this we use the following tools:
a) Google Analytics
This Internet site uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google"). Google Analytics uses "cookies", in other words text files that are saved on your computer to help analyse how you use our site. The information generated by the cookie concerning your use of this website is generally transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google complies with the data protection regulations of the "US Safe Harbor" agreement and is registered with the "Safe Harbor" programme of the US Department of Commerce. However, if IP anonymisation has been activated on this website, Google will first shorten your IP address within European Union Member States or in other signatory states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. Google uses this information on our behalf in order to analyse the use of our website by you so as to compile reports on website activities and provide additional services associated with the use of the website and Internet use for us as the operator of the site.
The IP address transferred by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be combined with other Google data. Our websites use Google Analytics with the extension "_anonymizeIp()". This means that IP addresses are processed in shortened form and so any direct reference to individuals can thus be excluded.
You can prevent cookies from being stored by using a corresponding setting in your browser software. However, as a precaution you should be aware that you then may possibly not be able to use all the functions on the website.
In addition, you may block the collection and processing by Google of the data produced by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available from the following link http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

b) Google Conversion Tracking
This website also uses Google Conversion Tracking, a service of Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google"). Google Adwords places a cookie on your computer if you reach our website via a Google ad. These cookies become invalid after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain parts of the website of the Adwords customer and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and the customer are able to recognise that the user has clicked on the advert and been forwarded to this site. Each Adwords customer is allotted a different cookie. Cookies cannot therefore be tracked via the websites of Adwords customers. The use of the information obtained through the Conversion cookie serves to generated conversion statistics for Adwords customers which have opted for conversion tracking. The Adwords customers find out the total number of users who have clicked on their advert and were relayed to a site bearing a Conversion Tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information which would allow users to be personally identified. If you do not wish to participate in the tracking process, you can also refuse to accept cookies – a browser setting can be used which will generally deactivate the automatic setting of third-party cookies. You can also deactivate cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser to block cookies from the domain "www.googleadservices.com". Google's data protection notes on conversion tracking are available here.
c) Google TagManager
Google Tag Manager, a service provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google"), is a solution with which marketers are able to manage website tabs via an interface. The Tag Manager tool itself which places the tags is a cookie-free domain and does not collect personal data. However, the tool does lead to the triggering of other tags which for their part may possibly collect data. However, Google Tag Manager itself does not access the data. If a deactivation is set at the domain or cookie level, it exists there for all tracking tags implemented with Google Tag Manager. You will find further information in the guidelines on use of this service.
